Floyd M. Fuhrman, age 94, Graceville, passed away Sunday, April 16, 2023, at Grace Home in Graceville.

Funeral Services will be Saturday, April 22, at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Johnson, MN.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

Military honors will be provided by the Jesse S. Poole American Legion Post 297 of Graceville.  Pallbearers will be Brady Fuhrman, Scott Fuhrman, Kyle Nighswonger, Lucas Hofman, Mark Miller, and David Webster.

Burial will be at a later date at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Johnson.

Floyd Merlin Fuhrman was born September 24, 1928, to Edward H. and Alice (Kruger) Fuhrman in Graceville.  He was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Johnson.  He attended District 50 school, then church school, and later graduated from the West Central Ag School in Morris in 1945.  After finishing school, he returned home to farm with his father.  On November 18, 1953, Floyd was drafted into the U.S. Army.  He was honorably discharged November 17, 1955, earning the National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal.

On July 13, 1957, Floyd married Gail Pritchard at the Methodist Church in Chokio, MN.  They were blessed with two children, Jerry and Julie. Floyd continued to enjoy farming all his life.

Floyd was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and served on the church council for several years. He also belonged to the Jesse S. Poole American Legion Post 297 of Graceville.

Floyd's main hobby was woodworking.  He made many pieces of furniture for their home and also toys for grandkids and great-grandkids.  For many years he enjoyed trapshooting with friends, bowling mixed doubles, and helping run the Graceville Gun Club.  Floyd and Gail also liked to travel and took many short trips.

Survivors include his wife, Gail Fuhrman of Graceville; children, Jerry Allen (Karen Vetter) Fuhrman of Hoffman, MN, and Julie (Steve) Nighswonger of Torrington, WY; grandchildren, Brady (Ashley) Fuhrman, Scott (Lauren) Fuhrman, Katie (David) Webster, Lindsey (Lucas) Hofman, Kacie (Mark) Miller, and Kyle (Ashley) Nighswonger; great-grandchildren, Sophie, Blake, and Mason Fuhrman, Charley and Nash Fuhrman, Kylie and Hannah Webster, McCormick, Sage, Axle, and Ruby Hofman, Tenley and Breck Miller, and Maggie and Austin Nighswonger.

Floyd was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Alice.

The family requests memorials be directed to Trinity Mt. Olive Lutheran Church.
