Elloid Lobbins

Elloid C. Lobbins, 81, Ortonville, MN, passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2015, at his home.

Funeral services were Monday, March 30, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Ortonville with Pastor Dennis O'Neill. Music was provided by organist Janet O'Neill.

Burial was in the Mound Cemetery, Ortonville. Pallbearers were Bob Meyer, Dan Meyer, Paul Gapp, Josh Bowen, Terry Kirk, and Lloyd Baker.

Visitation was Sunday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the church followed by a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at the church. Visitation continued Monday one hour prior to the service at the church.

Elloid Charles Lobbins was born April 21, 1933, in St. John's Township, Kandiyohi County, MN. He was baptized in Pennock, MN, and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Odessa, MN. Elloid attended country schools in Kandiyohi County, MN, Roberts County, SD, and in Odessa, MN.

On June 20, 1970, Elloid was united in marriage to Betty Lou Baker at Trinity Lutheran Church in Odessa. They resided in Odessa until 1976, when they moved to Ortonville, MN.  He worked for 33 years at the Big Stone Canning Factory.

Elloid was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Ortonville. His hobbies included gardening, tinkering in the garage, watching cowboy shows on TV, and listening to country and gospel music. Elloid also enjoyed spending time with grandchildren and great-grandchildren, taking trips to visit family and to Branson, MO, and playing cards with friends and family.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Lou of Ortonville; a son, Dean (Janis) Lobbins of New Brighton, MN; a daughter, Deanna Lobbins (Todd Hall) of Ortonville; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Shirley (Charlie) Roloff and Marcy Mills all of Mendota, IL; and sisters-in-law, Marion Lobbins of New London, MN, and Harriet Lobbins of Willmar, MN.

Elloid was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Herbert, Walter, Harold and Donald; and sisters, Maybelle, Marjorie, Eleanor (Lobbins) Hyde, Edna (Lobbins) Schueneman, Adeline (Lobbins) Barnickle and Betty (Lobbins) Leaf.
