Eleanor N. Hardie, age 77, Fairmount, ND, passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2019, at St. Catherine's Living Center in Wahpeton, ND.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 25, at 11:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Fairmount with Rev. Mark Gronseth officiating. Music will be provided by organist Kay Nelson.
Interment will be in the Graceland Cemetery, White Rock, SD. Honorary pallbearers will be all who called her family and friend. Active pallbearers will be Jeremy Wiebusch, Dustin Wiebusch, Nathan Brown, Logan Anderson, Wayne Anderson, Justin McKinnon, and Carter Wiebusch.
Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. followed by a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at the Eggers Funeral Home in Rosholt. Visitation will continue Tuesday morning one hour prior to the service at the church.
Eleanor Nancy Hardie was born March 18, 1942, to Edgar and Dagny (Gunderson) Allison in Minneapolis, MN. She was baptized at Hope Lutheran Church in Wheaton, MN, and confirmed at Augustana Lutheran Church in White Rock, SD. Eleanor attended school in White Rock.
On July 20, 1958, Eleanor married Walter Hardie in Dumont, MN. After their marriage, they farmed in rural Fairmount.
Eleanor's hobbies included crafting, sewing, and reading. She also enjoyed fishing, bird watching and tending to her flowers. She especially loved baking with her grandkids, camping with family, and just spending time with her children, friends and family.
Survivors include her husband, Walter of Fairmount; children, Wesley (Sue Kaehler) Hardie of Fairmount, Wayne (Rosemary) Hardie of Wahpeton, ND, Tami (Bruce) Wiebusch of Wahpeton, Paula (Todd) Brown of West Fargo, ND, and Jennifer Hardie of Fairmount; grandchildren, Jeremy (Trista) Wiebusch, Dustin (Amy) Wiebusch, Ashley (Wayne) Anderson, Nathan Brown, Marissa (Justin) McKinnon, Cassidy Brown, Tara Meyer, Tracee Meyer, and Andrew LaJoice; 14 great-grandchildren; brother, Darwin (Susie) Allison of Fergus Falls, MN; and brothers-in-law, Charlie (Pat) Hardie of Alexandria, MN, and Dennis (Karen) Hardie of Anoka, MN.
Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Maggie Allison; father-in-law, Newell Hardie; in-laws, Ethel and Arvid Peterson; sister-in-law, Norma (Barry) Wood; and special friend, Kim Meyer.
