Edna P. Larson, 94, Sisseton, SD, passed away Wednesday, January 16, 2013, at the Tekakwitha Nursing Center in Sisseton.
Memorial services were held on Edna's birthday, Saturday, March 30, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Browns Valley, MN, with Rev. Paul Warnier officiating. Music was provided by organist Ginny Westbrock and vocalist Kelly Kaufman.     Burial was in the Hillside Cemetery, Rosholt. Urn bearers were Edna's grandchildren, Jay Kaufman, Traci Huddleston, Gay Lyons, Kelly Kaufman, Grant Kaufman, and Joanna Kaufman.
Edna Pearl was born March 30, 1918, in rural Rosholt, SD, to Joseph and Martha (Benjamin) Robert. She attended school in the Rosholt area and later attended Rosholt High School.
On September 28, 1935, Edna married Melvin "Johnny" Kaufman at Sisseton. They farmed in Bryant Township. Melvin passed away January 17, 1977. Edna later moved to Sisseton. Edna married Harold Larson on April 23, 1988, in Sisseton. Harold passed away February 11, 1992. Edna continued to live in Sisseton and spent winters in Phoenix, AZ. In August of 2011, she made the Tekakwitha Nursing Center her home.
Edna was a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed dancing, playing cards, especially pinochle, and marbles.
Survivors include her daughter, JoAnn (Ron) Martinka of Phoenix; son, Wayne (Loni) Kaufman of West Fargo, ND; 6 grandchildren, Jay Kaufman of Moorhead, MN, Traci (Dale) Huddleston of Desert Hills, AZ, Gay (Bob) Lyons of San Francisco, CA, Kelly Kaufman of West Fargo, Grant (Shannon) Kaufman of Dallas, TX, and Joanna Kaufman of Baltimore, MD; and 6 great-grandchildren.
Edna was preceded in death by her parents; husbands Melvin and Harold; grandson, Terry Martinka; sisters, Evelyn Kaufman, Dorothy Dykstra and Maxine Tarvin; nephew, Wesley Kaufman; and daughter-in-law, Janice Kay (Dalin) Kaufman.
