Dorothy Vosberg

Dorothy A. Vosberg, 92, Browns Valley, MN, died Friday, July 15, 2016, at the Wilmot Care Center, Wilmot, SD.

Funeral services will be Saturday, July 23, at 2:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Presbyterian Church in Browns Valley with Rev. Mark Terayama officiating. Music will be provided by organist Ginny Westbrock and vocalists Sue Sykora and Stacey Borgheiinck.

Burial will be in the Wilmot Community Cemetery, Wilmot. Urn bearers will be Dorothy's grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Saturday one hour prior to the service at the church. The Eggers Funeral Home in Rosholt, SD, is in charge of the arrangements.

Dorothy Ann Vosberg was born February 22, 1924, in Peever, SD, to Louis Martin and Mabel (Thompson) Jacobson. She was the 9 ^th child out of 14. She attended rural school near Peever.

On May 1, 1943, Dorothy was united in marriage to Louis J. Vosberg in Peever. To this union, five children were born: Sharon, Shelva, David, Debra, and Mark. Dorothy and Louis bought their farm in Becker Township, SD. Dorothy was a very hands-on farm wife. She enjoyed sewing, baking, embroidery and her flower and vegetable gardens. She also loved doing her oil paintings.

Louis passed away August 2, 1981. Dorothy continued to live on the farm until she entered the Wilmot Care Center in February of 2007.

Dorothy was active in the United Methodist and Presbyterian Church. She attended Circles and Bible Study and was always willing to help wherever it was needed. She enjoyed the friendship of her many neighbors through the years.

Dorothy died July 15, 2016, at the Wilmot Care Center having reached 92 years.

Survivors include her children, Sharon (Cal) VanCleve, Wilmot, David (Zinda) Vosberg of Browns Valley, and Deb (Darrell) Berning of Wilmot; nine grandchildren, Dawn (Michael) Osborne of Utah, Dale VanCleve of Milbank, Daniel VanCleve of Aberdeen, SD, Cory (Andrea) Vosberg of Watertown, SD, Jill (Jeff) Pistorius of Browns Valley, Cindi (Marc) Anderson of Red Wing, MN, Jeremy Vosberg of South Dakota, and Jackie Vosberg of Tea, SD; great-grandchildren, KaSara (Adam) Foell, Matthew Osborne, Calvin Osborne, Brittany (Cory) Carson, Samantha (fiance Jake Schultz) VanCleve, Ariana VanCleve, Dustin VanCleve,  Kolton VanCleve, Shawntel (Justin) Harte, Heather Vosberg (Zach Giese) Maddie and Olivia Pistorius, Kerrigan Vosberg, Taylor DeBoer, and Trayton DeBoer; great-great-grandchildren, Claire VanCleve, Bode Harte, Mila Vosberg and Aydin Foell; sister, Arvilla (Mel) Hohertz of Colorado; two sisters-in-law, Joyce Vosberg of Wilmot and Jean Vosberg of Idaho; and many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Louis; daughter, Shelva; son, Mark Vosberg in 2010; grandson, Jason Berning in 2006; siblings, Lorraine Watt, Neva Young, Viola Kallstrom, Betty Jacobson, Thelma Rogers, Lavern Jacobson, Sarah Enquist, Beatrice Nachazel, Norma Kively, Iva Niles, Maynard Jacobson and Lester Martin Jacobson.
