Dorothy Miller

Dorothy "Dot" A. Miller, age 96, Beardsley, MN, passed away Sunday, July 2, 2023, at the Traverse Care Center in Wheaton, MN.

Visitation will be Saturday, July 15, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at Ave Maria Catholic Church in Wheaton with Father John Paul Knopik officiating.

Burial will be in the St. Mary's Cemetery, Beardsley.

Dorothy Ann was born August 6, 1926, to Bernard and Eleanor (Meyer) Gauer.  She attended rural school near Beardsley and graduated from Beardsley High School in 1946.

On October 6, 1949, Dot married Dean Miller.  She worked as a cook at the Beardsley School and at the Beardsley Sr. Citizens Center. She retired after many years as a cook.  In December of 2020, Dot made her home in the Traverse Care Center in Wheaton.  Dean passed away February 16, 2022.

Dot was a life-long member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Beardsley.  Her favorite hobbies were making homemade bread and cookies by throwing in a little of this and a little of that.  She never used a measuring cup.  She liked to pass her time doing word search puzzles and playing cards.  Dot's all-time favorite was having her whole family together.  She also thoroughly enjoyed all of the staff, residents and families at the Traverse Care Center.

Survivors include her children, Jolene Miller (Gary Dobbs) of Beardsley, Loren Miller of Alcester, SD, Maxene Johnson of Wheaton; grandchildren, Aryn Blaesing (David), Eric Johnson (Abi), Kassandra Johnson (Nathan Maus), Layne Miller, and Wyatt Miller; great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Folk, Austin Folk, Elizabeth Patton, Keara Blaesing, and Payton Johnson.

Dot was preceded in death by her husband Dean; parents, Bernard and Eleanor; granddaughter, Ariyanna Miller; son-in-law, David Johnson; daughter-in-law, Samantha Miller; and parents-in-law, Harry and Clara Miller.
