Doris "Cookie" M. Cook

Doris "Cookie" M. Cook, 81, Browns Valley, passed away Monday, September 6, 2021, at Coteau des Prairies Hospital in Sisseton.

There will be no service.

Doris Mae was born November 30, 1939, to William R. and Clara (Silverberger) Edwards, in Roberts County, SD.  She attended country school through the eighth grade and graduated from Browns Valley High School in 1958.  After finishing school, she moved to Kalamazoo, MI, and worked in a mattress factory. She married Robert Cook.

Cookie moved to Lake Traverse, MN, and later made her home in Browns Valley. She worked as a bartender at the Browns Valley Liquor Store and was a jailer at the Roberts County jail.  Cookie took care of her mother for 25 years in Michigan.  She was also a kind, wonderful sister.

Cookie enjoyed gardening and playing cards, especially Poker and Whist.  She also loved watching Green Bay Packer football.

Survivors include her son, Robert Cook of Denver, CO; sister, Betty Gaulrapp of Breckenridge, MN; brother, Wayne Edwards of Kalamazoo; several nieces and nephews; and many special friends.

Cookie was preceded in death by her parents; and her siblings, Linda, Della, Thelma, Shirley, Donna, Verlin, Myron, Harold, Jerry, and Richard.
