Dolores W. Keller

Dolores W. Keller, 80, Rosholt, SD, formerly of Sisseton, SD, died Saturday, February 25, 2012, at the Rosholt Care Center, Rosholt.
Funeral services were Thursday, March 1, at 1:00 p.m. at St. John's Catholic Church in Rosholt with Father Dennis Deis, OMI, officiating. Music was provided by pianist Todd Quatier.
Burial was in the St. Nicholas Cemetery, rural Rosholt. Pallbearers were Doug Cook, Chuck Braun, Loran Braun, Bob Braun, Mike Braun and Joe Brockhaus.
Visitation was Tuesday from noon to 6:00 p.m. at the Eggers Funeral Home in Rosholt. There was a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at St. John's Catholic Church in Rosholt.
Dolores Wilhelmina was born February 5, 1932, in Humphrey, NE, to Ferdinand and Catherine (Wieser) Brockhaus. Dolores attended school in Rosholt graduating from Rosholt High School in 1950.
On August 26, 1952, Dolores married Vernon Albert Keller at the St. John's Catholic Church in Rosholt. After their marriage, Vernon and Dolores farmed near Tintah, MN. They then moved to Hankinson, ND, where they continued to farm. In 1961, they moved to Rosholt and eventually to Hammer, SD, to a farm in 1969.
Vernon passed away on December 11, 1988. In 1993, Dolores moved to Sisseton where she worked at Power Century and the Tekakwitha Living Center as a dietary aide. She moved to the Rosholt Care Center in June of 2009.
Dolores enjoyed playing cards and solving jigsaw and crossword puzzles. She especially loved playing games with her grandchildren. She also loved driving around, going out for lunch, bird watching and making the best fried chicken.
Survivors include her six children, David Keller of Phoenix, AZ, Carol (Tom) Schiltz of Hankinson, ND, Jeffery Keller of Veblen, SD, Anthony Keller of Sioux Falls, SD, Gary (Lisa) Keller of Watertown, SD and Cindy (Jim) Pohl of Rosholt; 20 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Anna Mae (Donald) Braun, Margaret Braun and Rose Mary Brockhaus, all of Rosholt; and a brother, Elmer (Barb) Brockhaus of Mankato, MN.
Dolores was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon; two children, Daniel and Leonard; one granddaughter, Lisa; brother, Art Brockhaus; infant sister, Dorothy; sister-in-law, Margaret Brockhaus and a brother-in-law, Delmar Braun.
