Dennis Leclair

Dennis LeClair, age 72, of Hot Springs, AR, formerly of Rosholt, died peacefully at home with family by his side on November 20, 2022.

A Celebration of Dennis's Life will be held Saturday, August 12, 2023, at 12 noon at the Eggers Funeral Home in Rosholt.

Burial will be in the St. Joseph's Lutheran Cemetery, rural Rosholt.  Military honors will be provided by the Leo American Legion Post 48 of Rosholt and the Read Veflin American Legion Post 180 of New Effington.

Visitation will be Saturday, August 12, from 11:00 a.m. to 12 noon.

Dennis E. LeClair was born on August 15, 1950, to his parents George and Esther (Zastrow) LeClair in Wheaton, MN. He was the 8th child to George and Esther LeClair out of 11 children. He graduated from Rosholt High School in 1969. After graduating, Dennis was offered the opportunity to attend West Point to continue his education but chose to enlist in the U.S. Army.  He was stationed in Germany working in the motor pool as a truck mechanic until 1971. Dennis continued working as a mechanic until his retirement in 1998.

In 1973 Dennis met Rita Berg and the two of them were married on October 4, 1975. Dennis and Rita had three children: a daughter, Lisa LeClair, and two sons, Steven and Bradley LeClair, before they divorced in October 1990. In 1997 Dennis moved to Hot Springs, AR, where he lived for 25 years until his death.

Dennis is survived by his children, Lisa LeClair and James Lamb of Littleton CO, Steven and Melissa (Gaffaney) LeClair of Coon Rapids, MN, and Bradley LeClair of St. Francis, MN; six grandchildren, Cierra, Kaidan and Aspen Alexander, Abriana "Abby" and Layton LeClair, and Wynter LeClair; eight siblings, Dorothy Schafte of Vancouver, WA, Dale LeClair of Battle Ground, WA, Lyle and Mary LeClair of Anniston, AL, Roy and Fay LeClair of Tuscaloosa, AL, Ray and Nancy LeClair of Arden Hills, MN, Lonnie and Marsha LeClair of Fridley, MN,  Janette Brandenburger and Dean Eneboe of Rosholt, SD, and Robert "Bob" LeClair of Casa Grande, AZ; and numerous nieces and nephews and lifelong friends.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, George and Esther LeClair, brother, Brent Robert LeClair (Bob's twin who died at birth); sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Rodney Sand; brothers-in-law, Glen Schafte and Nick Brandenburger; sister-in-law, Darlene LeClair; and nephews, John Eneboe and Gary Schafte.
