Dennis M. Greiner, 72, Wilmot, passed away Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at his home.
Funeral Services will be Saturday, January 15, at 10:00 a.m. at the Peever Lutheran Church in Peever with Rev. Sheila Pohl officiating. Music will be provided by pianist Joyce Hanson.
Burial will be in the Garfield Cemetery, rural Corona, SD. Pallbearers will be Fred Frederikson, Blaine Northrop, Art Ceroll, Rob Greiner, Todd Pistorius, Brian Greiner, Kent Wieker, and Dan Gomarko.
Visitation will be Friday from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at the church and will continue Saturday morning one hour prior to the service at the church.
Dennis Michael Greiner was born January 24, 1949, to Lawrence and Margaret (Frahman) Greiner in Ortonville, MN. He went to country school through 6 th grade and then attended school in Wilmot, graduating from Wilmot High School in 1967. After attending college for 2 ½ years, he returned home to farm and run a feedlot of cattle with his dad.
On June 19, 1971, Dennis married Lynette Pistorius in Browns Valley. Dennis farmed most of his life. He raised lots of lambs and ran a feedlot for lambs and calves. Dennis served as a 4-H leader for many years and loved going with the girls showing their calves. He was also a long-time director on the Northeast Livestock Co-op Board.
In 2014, Dennis and Lynette moved to town. Dennis continued working for North Dakota Stockmen's Association as a brand inspector for 40 years. He also drove school bus for Aksamit out of Browns Valley School. He enjoyed working for both places. Dennis also loved fishing with his grandson and his other buddies.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Lynette of 50 years; daughters, Kari (Dwayne) Scott of Fargo, ND, and Amanda Greiner of West Fargo, ND; grandson, Austin Scott of Valley City, ND; brothers, Roy (Diane) Greiner of Wilmot, Curt Greiner of Milbank, SD, Glenn Greiner of Sioux Falls, SD, and Steve Greiner of Milbank; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, uncles and aunts.
