Delores Mary Menge, age 60, Rosholt, unexpectedly passed away Friday, October 20, 2023, at her home in Rosholt.
Visitation will be Wednesday, October 25, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. followed by the Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. at the Graceville Community Center in Graceville.
Burial will be in the Graceville Consolidated Cemetery.
Delores, referred to as 'Sis' by her closest friends and family, was born January 4, 1963, to Lawrence Louis and Betty Lou Elizabeth (Lureen) Menge in Graceville, MN. She attended school in Graceville.
On April 26, 1991, Delores married Todd McCartney in Watertown, SD. After their marriage, they made their home in Watertown. They bounced back and forth between Watertown and the Ortonville area before permanently settling in Ortonville in 2000. In 2008 they moved to Rosholt. Delores worked as a manager in the hospitality industry for several years.
Delores's hobbies included cooking, cleaning, gardening, coloring, playing dice, and doing crosswords. She enjoyed watching Family Feud with family and was a long-time watcher of The Young and the Restless . She was a Dodge Ram enthusiast and an avid fan of the Minnesota Vikings. Delores enjoyed country music and collecting snowmen and sloths. An avid birdwatcher, she loved to drive around the back woods with her binoculars looking for the eagles she named George and Loretta. Above all, Delores loved spending time with her kids, granddogs and grandcats.
Survivors include her husband, Todd Wayne McCartney of Rosholt; children, Casey (Warren Rupright) Menge of Sioux Falls and Logan Menge of Breckenridge, MN; lifelong sidekick and BFF, Al Melcher of Rosholt; siblings, Diane (Milt) Shaffer of Pierre, SD, Dennis (Marilyn) Menge of Faribault, MN, Douglas (Julie) Menge of Farmington, MN, Deb Ballhagen, Joyce (Al) Reynolds, Dan (Connie) Menge and Dean (Janet Zych) Menge all of Graceville, and Dale (Buffie) Menge of Decatur, TX; sister-in-law, Tanya (Mike) Huerner of Big Lake, MN; fur kids, Trixie and Tarie; granddogs and grandcats, Rogue, Raven, Ferrari, and Kuma; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.
Delores was preceded in death by her parents Lawrence and Betty; two infant daughters, Amanda and Nikki; and her mother-in-law, Edna Paffrath.
