Dean Miller

Dean G. Miller, 98, Beardsley, MN, passed away Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at Sanford Wheaton Hospital in Wheaton, MN.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, February 19, at 10:30 a.m. at Ave Maria Catholic Church in Wheaton officiated by Father John Paul Knopik. Music will be provided by organist Cindy Sanasack. The service will be livestreamed on the Eggers Funeral Home Facebook page.

Burial will be at a later date in the St. Mary's Cemetery, Beardsley. Pallbearers will be his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Saturday morning one hour prior to the service at the church.

Dean George Miller was born August 23, 1923, to Harry and Clara (Hanson) Miller in Victor Township, Roberts County, SD. He attended school through the eighth grade.

On October 6, 1949, Dean married Dorothy Gauer. After their marriage, Dean farmed in the Beardsley area, and worked as a custodian at the Beardsley School District.

Dean's hobbies included fishing, hunting, and consulting the Farmers Almanac for the weather report. He also enjoyed playing cards and bean bags and being with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Miller of Wheaton; children, Jolene Miller (Gary Dobbs) of Beardsley, Loren Miller of Alcester, SD, and Maxene Johnson of Wheaton; grandchildren, Aryn Blaesing (David), Eric Johnson (Abi), Kassandra Johnson, Layne Miller and Wyatt Miller; great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Folk, Austin Folk, Elizabeth Patton, Keara Blaesing, and Payton Johnson; and his sister, Marion Saide of Hayward, CA.

Dean was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Clara Miller; granddaughter, Ariyanna Miller; son-in-law, David Johnson, daughter-in-law, Samantha Miller, parents-in-law, Bernerd and Eleanor Gauer; and brothers, Willis and Eli Miller; and sisters, Ramona Schueller, Helen Weeks, Dorothy Leverson, Ardyce McKee, and Joyce Kaufman.
