Connie Lou Diekmann, 80, Beardsley, MN, died Tuesday, April 2, 2019, in her home surrounded by her loving family.

A private family celebration of Connie's life will be held at a later date.  Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery, Browns Valley.  The Eggers Funeral Home in Rosholt, SD, is in charge of the arrangements.

Connie Lou was born April 10, 1938, to Walter and Elsie (Nelson) Pedersen in Artichoke Township, Big Stone County, MN.  She graduated from Browns Valley High School in 1956.

On January 30, 1957, Connie married Conrad Diekmann, Sr., in Browns Valley.  After their marriage, they lived and farmed in rural Beardsley.  Connie was a hard worker alongside Conrad on the farm as well as spending many hours gardening and canning.  Conrad died January 16, 1996.  Connie continued living on the farm.

Connie's greatest joy was spending time with her kids and grandkids.

Connie was a member of the Daughters of Isabella and was a Girl Scouts leader and First Responder.  She enjoyed doing crafts, birdwatching, playing cards, working crossword puzzles, bowling, spending time at the lake, and fishing.

Survivors include her children, Helen (Dave) Kallstrom of Cataldo, ID, Conrad Jr. (Becky) Diekmann of Ortonville, MN, Mary Theisen of Wheaton, MN, David (Lori) Diekmann of Belview, MN, and Kathy (Phil) Dale of Beardsley; grandchildren, Nicole Kallstrom, Tyler Kallstrom, Eric Diekmann, Neal Diekmann, Kyle Diekmann, Paige Theisen, Victoria Theisen, Christopher Diekmann, Corey Diekmann, Abigail Dale, Ellie Dale, Morgan Dale, and Candace Wieting; 14 great-grandchildren; brother, Chuck (Bev) Pedersen of Wilmot, SD; sister-in-law, Carol Pedersen of Alaska; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Connie was preceded in death by her husband, Conrad Diekmann, Sr.; grandson, Colby Simonson; brothers, Harold, Ervin, Roy, and David Pedersen; brothers-in-law, Bernard, Joseph and Frank Diekmann; and sisters-in-law, Catherine Gibson, Theresa Sykora, Philomena Reinart, and Helen Berning.
