Clifford M. Dalberg, age 91, Rosholt, SD, passed away Saturday, December 8, 2012, at the Rosholt Care Center.
Funeral services were Tuesday, December 11, at 2:00 p.m. at the Eggers Funeral Home in Rosholt with Rev. Nancy Quatier officiating. Music was provided by organist Lana Sand.
Burial was in the Sisseton Cemetery, Sisseton. Military honors were provided by the Fort Sisseton VFW Post 3342. Pallbearers were Terry Peterson, Tracy Peterson, Wade Peterson, Belinda Dalberg, Spencer Peterson and Tanner Peterson.
Visitation was Monday from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Eggers Funeral Home in Rosholt.
Clifford Marvin was born June 16, 1921, in Norway Township, rural Claire City, SD, to Charley and Mabel (Hofland) Dalberg. He attended rural school and graduated from Veblen High School.
On June 23, 1944, Clifford married Irene Hrncir at Sisseton, SD. On April 27, 1945, Clifford was drafted into the U.S. Army. He served a year in Japan where he received the Asiatic-Pacific Service Medal, Army of Occupation Medal (Japan) and the Victory Medal. He was honorably discharged October 31, 1946. Clifford and Irene farmed in the Claire City area until retiring to Rosholt in 1999.
Clifford was a member of the Fort Sisseton VFW Post 3342. He enjoyed attending auction sales and threshing bees.
Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Irene Dalberg of Rosholt; two children, Carol (Allen) Peterson of Sisseton and Carl Dalberg of Sisseton; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Clifford was preceded in death by his parents, Charley and Mabel Dalberg; brother, Ole Dalberg and his wife Alice; and a sister, Lucille Johnson.
