Cynthia "Cindy" Thompson, 51, Browns Valley, MN, died Thursday, January 27, 2011, at her residence in Browns Valley.
Funeral services were Monday, January 31, at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Presbyterian Church in Browns Valley with Rev. Paul Warnier officiating. Music was provided by organist Ginny Westbrock and vocalist Jackson Piechowski.
Honorary urn bearers were the residents and staff of Valley Vista Apartments and the staff at Pheasant Country Home Health. Active urn bearers were Tami, Mark and Riley Rasmussen.
Visitation was Sunday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. followed by a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Presbyterian Church in Browns Valley.
Cynthia Ann was born January 26, 1960, in Graceville, MN, to Charles "Chuck" and Marilyn (Anderson) Thompson. She was baptized and confirmed at Holden Lutheran Church in Beardsley, MN. Cindy graduated from Beardsley High School in 1978 and attended one year at Moorhead Technical Institute in Moorhead, MN.
After finishing school, Cindy was employed at Valley Grain, Valley Hai, the Browns Valley Municipal Liquor Store, the Browns Valley Health Center, and HCMC Home Care. Most recently, Cindy's life was circled around working with her residents as the caretaker of the Valley Vista Apartments in Browns Valley.
Cindy was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Browns Valley. She was a big animal lover caring for four cats and two dogs, Buster and Bailey. Cindy enjoyed watching Minnesota Twins baseball and was a huge NASCAR fan, especially of the Earnhardt's – Dale Sr. and Dale Jr.
Cindy loved spending time with her children, relatives and friends. She looked forward to weekend camping trips and relaxing by a campfire.
Survivors include her fiancé, Paul Kaufman of Browns Valley; three children, Brady (Kristen Huselid) Thompson of Moorhead, and Cassidy Thompson and Jamie Thompson of Browns Valley; mother, Marilyn Thompson of Browns Valley; brother Jary (Darcy) Thompson of Lakeville, MN; sister, Kathy (Darrel) Issendorf of Beardsley; niece, Melissa (Eric) Kleindl of Graceville; nephews, Torey (Michelle) Issendorf and Steve (Katie) Gary of Graceville; and stepmother, Kitty Thompson of Beardsley.
Cindy was preceded in death by her father, Chuck; and a brother, Howie Thompson.
