Christine A. Pedersen

Christine A. Pedersen, 80, Beardsley, MN, passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2016, at Sanford Hospital in Fargo, ND.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 3, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Browns Valley, MN, officiated by Rev. Paul Warnier. Music will be provided by organist Ginny Westbrock and vocalists Sue Sykora and Stacey Borgheiinck.

Burial will be in the Valley View Cemetery, Browns Valley. Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Lemmerman and Bill Gibson. Active pallbearers will be Danny, Donnie, Denny, and Greg Sykora, David Thomson, and Conrad Diekmann, Jr. Ushers will be Dale and Francis Sykora.

Visitation will be Monday, January 2, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church and will continue Tuesday one hour prior to the service.

Christine was born August 23, 1936, to Les and Elsie (Hanson) Hansen in Graceville, MN. She attended rural school near Browns Valley. After finishing school, she worked at the Sisseton Hospital.

On December 1, 1956, Christine married Erwin R. Pedersen at Zion Lutheran Church in Browns Valley. They lived and farmed in the Beardsley area. Erwin died January 3, 2011. Christine continued to live on the farm.

Christine's hobbies included gardening, flowers, and playing cards, especially Rummy and Kings in the Corner. She also enjoyed cats and dogs and wildlife.

Survivors include a son, Robert Pedersen of Beardsley; three grandchildren, Kayla Marie Reich, Daniel James (Tyawna) Pedersen and Shelby Lynn (David) Pedersen; three great-granddaughters, Haili, Lea, and Ruth; and two sisters, Sandy and Linda.

Christine was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Erwin; son, Roger Pedersen; four brothers; and six sisters.
