Carolyn M. Totzke, 73, Fergus Falls, MN, formerly of Wheaton, MN, passed away Thursday, March 26, 2015, at Sanford Hospital in Fargo, ND.
Funeral services were Wednesday, April 1, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls, with Pastor Roger Lange officiating. Music was provided by organist Esther Schlicker.
Burial was in the Wildwood Cemetery, Wheaton, MN. Military honors were provided by the Jesse S. Poole American Legion Post 297 of Graceville, MN. Pallbearers were Brad Johnson, Ward Leslie, Terri Leslie, Bill Gitchel, Wesley Speer, Gary Ehlers, Stacy Ehlers, and Allen Schroden.
Visitation was Wednesday morning from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the church. The Eggers Funeral Home in Rosholt, SD, was in charge of the arrangements.
Carolyn Mary was born May 10, 1941, near Aliquippa, PA, to Stanley and Mary Slawianoski. She attended school and graduated from high school in Pennsylvania in 1959. On May 2, 1960, Carolyn enlisted in the U.S. Navy. After being honorably discharged on September 30, 1964, she returned to Pennsylvania and worked until 1967 at a military base. She then moved to San Diego and worked at Naval Air Station North Island at the Naval Air Rework Facility as an aircraft electrician, retiring in 1991. In 1992, Carolyn moved to Wheaton, MN.
On June 25, 1993, Carolyn married Dale Totzke at Monson Lutheran Church, rural Wheaton. In July 2008, Dale and Carolyn moved to Fergus Falls. Dale passed away June 15, 2009.
Carolyn was a member of NARFE and Trinity Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls. Her hobbies included collecting angels, and riding dune buggy and ATV's in the sand hills of California. She also enjoyed hosting family and friends for gatherings. She loved dogs and always had at least one wherever she lived, even if she didn't plan to. Carolyn was a kind, caring person who enjoyed helping others where she could. She was an awesome mom to her son.
Survivors include her son, David Green of Fergus Falls; daughter-in-law, Rosanne Muniz of Bethlehem, PA; three granddaughters, Lauren Totzke of London, United Kingdom, Kristin Coryn of Denver, CO, and Katelyn Totzke of Boca Raton, FL; a grandson, Jason Totzke of San Francisco; brother-in-law, Casey Przybocki of Florida; and special friends, Terri and Ward Leslie of Fergus Falls, Don and Wanda Anderson of Brookings, SD, and Karrie Garber.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dale; brothers, Steve and Stas Slawianoski; sister, Sandy Przybocki; and stepsons, Curtis and Francis Totzke.
