Barbara Herberg

Barbara J. Herberg, 64, Beardsley, MN, died Tuesday, August 21, 2012, at the Coteau des Prairies Hospital in Sisseton, SD.
Funeral services will be Friday, August 24, at 10:00 a.m. at Holden Lutheran Church in rural Beardsley with Minister Bev McNeill officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
Burial will be at a later date in the Holden Cemetery, rural Beardsley.  Pallbearers will be Vern Herberg, Thomas Herberg, Larry Goette, Jim Hills, Norman Erickson, and Gary Deutsch.
Barbara Joy was born August 10, 1948, in Bemidji, MN, to William "Bill" and Lorraine (Stebe) Marks. She was baptized and confirmed at First Lutheran Church in Bemidji. Barbara attended school in Bemidji graduating from Bemidji High School in 1966. After finishing school, Barbara worked at the Bemidji Nursing Home.
On November 15, 1969, Barbara married Wayne Herberg at the First Lutheran Church in Bemidji. After their marriage, they moved to the Beardsley area. Barbara enjoyed being a homemaker and later worked at Power Sentry.
Barbara's hobbies included playing cards, reading, latch hooking, embroidering and listening to music. She loved rooting for her kids at their sporting activities and watching the Minnesota Twins. Friends and family were very important. Barbara looked forward to their visits, especially with her children and grandson. She loved afternoon drives with her loving husband and was always up for a road trip, especially when it was to go shopping!
Survivors include her husband, Wayne of Beardsley; two sons, Michael (fiancé Kristen) Herberg of Fargo, ND, and David Herberg of Bemidji; a grandson, Aysen Herberg of Fargo; and a sister, Beverly Marks of Bemidji.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Sandra Lee Marks; and stepmother, Lucille Marks.
