Barbara Fladland

Barbara Irene (Stover) Fladland, 88, a resident of Bethany on 42 ^nd Retirement Center, Fargo, ND, went into the arms of Jesus on Monday, December 20, 2021.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at Eggers Funeral Home in Rosholt, SD with the Rev. Karie Geyer of Faith Lutheran Church, New Effington, SD, officiating.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.  Burial will follow the funeral at Nidaros Cemetery, rural Hammer, SD. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Eggers Funeral Home.

Barbara was born in Everett, Washington on May 19, 1933. She graduated from Bothell High School and worked in the field of nursing for many years.

Barbara resided in the Sisseton hills area for several years prior to marrying Lane Fladland on August 26, 1956.  They resided in rural Hammer, SD and had four children: Paul, Melanie, Tamie, and William (Bill).

She was a woman of strong faith, who loved her family, animals of all types, especially dogs and horses, and had a special admiration for plants and flowers of all kinds.  She loved to watch TV, especially Westerns, mysteries and classic comedy shows.  She had a quick wit and loved a good joke.  She even was known to write a poem from time to time.

In June of 1987, she sang to an audience of over 70,000 people in the Billy Graham Crusade Choir in Fargo.  She counted this opportunity as one of the most special memories of her life.

All who knew Barbara, knew her to be a kind, caring and FUNNY lady, just ask her family about many of the "Barb-isms" they can remember.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Hazel (Curtis) Stover; 12 siblings, Hugh, Fred, Paul, Vern, Harold, Eddie, Annie, Sylvia, Cherie, Maxine, Mildred, and Doris; and her son-in-law, Eddie Yost.

Barbara leaves behind her children and their families:  Paul (Kara) Fladland of Fargo, ND; Melanie Yost of Sisseton, SD and children Kristin Yost (Neeki Bey) and Lindsay (Tim) Gleason; Tamie (Steve) Dvorak of Brookings, SD and children Kandy (Steve) Barrs, Adam and Ryan Kelly, and Nathanial Dvorak; and Bill Fladland of Ramsey, MN and children Lauren, Jordan, and Jacob.  She also leaves her great grandchildren:  Olivia and Jay Bartnick, and Noah (Breanna), Aaron and Abby Barrs; and one great-great grandchild Cyanna Barrs.
