Arnold L. Bredvik, Jr.

Arnold L. Bredvik, Jr., 85, Sisseton, SD, passed away Wednesday, March 8, 2017, at the Tekakwitha Living Center in Sisseton.

Funeral services will be Friday, March 10, at 10:30 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church in New Effington, SD, with Rev. Cheryl Rondeau-Bassett officiating. Music will be provided by organist Debra Bredvik and vocalists Breanna Opdahl and McKenzie Roob.

Burial will be in the Nidaros Cemetery, Hammer, SD.

Arnold Leo was born June 16, 1931, to Arnold and Ruby (McLaird) Bredvik in Hankinson, ND. He attended rural school and graduated from New Effington High School. After finishing school, Jr. began farming with his dad and brother.

In 1950, Jr. married Doris Hammer. Doris passed away in 2001.

Arnold married Rose Roob June 25, 2005, at Faith Lutheran Church in New Effington. Jr. continued to farm. He also owned the Four Lanes Bowling Alley in New Effington with Lynn Bredvik, LaVonne Ringsaker and Ken Stowe.

Jr. enjoyed gardening, reading, bowling, fishing and dancing.

Survivors include his wife, Rose of Sisseton; children, Dennis Bredvik of Tucson, AZ, Bonnie Ceroll of Sisseton, Randy (Nancy) Bredvik of New Effington, and Becky (Lon) Opdahl of Santa Clara, UT; stepchildren, Rick (Joleen) Roob of Breckenridge, MN, Steve (Brenda) Roob of Abercrombie, ND, and Tammy Lugert (Nate Baumann) of Gwinner, ND; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Dorothy Bredvik of New Effington.

Jr. was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Doris; children, Brent Bredvik, LeaAnn Kohl and Tammy Schultz; grandsons, Tyler Bredvik and Daniel Sloan; and brother, Thorvald.
