Anthony "Tony" Schiltz

Anthony "Tony" J. Schiltz, 68, Lincoln, NE, formerly of Rosholt, SD, passed away Sunday, September 27, 2015, at his home in Lincoln.

Funeral Mass was Thursday, October 1, at 10:00 a.m. at St. John's Catholic Church in Rosholt with Father Stanley Wieser officiating. Music was provided by pianist Austin Eggers.

Burial was in the St. Nicholas Cemetery, rural Rosholt. Pallbearers were Kevin Akerson, Bryan Schiltz, Mike Murphy, Les Hanson, Ray Renelt and Elroy Klein.

Visitation was Wednesday from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Eggers Funeral Home in Rosholt and continued Thursday one hour prior to the service at the church.

Anthony John Schiltz was born June 23, 1947, to Christine (Fehringer) and Nicholas Schiltz in Breckenridge, MN. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Catholic Church in Rosholt. He attended school in Rosholt, graduating with the Class of 1965.

Tony married the love of his life, Lana LeClair, at St. John's Catholic Church on July 5, 1969. Together they lived and worked in Eagan, MN, for many years before retiring to Sun City Grand, AZ. Missing the change of seasons, they moved back to Rosholt, and finally to Lincoln, NE.

Tony was known for his constant smile, warm heart and gentle nature. His interests included boating, golf, travel and history, especially the WWII P51 Mustang. On July 18, 2015, he finally got his wish to ride and pilot a P51 Mustang, "Betty Jane".

Survivors include his beloved wife of 46 years, Lana; sister, Esther Bernard of Wahpeton, ND; sisters-in-law, Theresa Schiltz, Burlene LeClair, Ina Akerson and Roberta LeClair; brothers-in-law, Dennis Hokanson and George Akerson; and many nieces and nephews.

Tony was preceded in death by his parents, Nick and Christine Schiltz; brothers, Leo and Gordon Schiltz; sister, Priscilla Haehn; brothers-in-law, Curtis, David and Randy LeClair, Ralph Haehn and Dennis Bernard; and sister-in-law, Phyllis Hokanson.
