Anna Marie Sibson, 68, Beardsley, MN, passed away Sunday, December 13, 2020, at Essentia Health in Fargo.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, December 18, at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Graceville with Father Brian Oestreich officiating. Music will be provided by organist Deb Farwell and vocalists Sue Sykora and Kelsey Holtz.
The funeral service will be livestreamed on the Eggers Funeral Home Facebook page.
Burial will be in the St. Mary's Cemetery, Beardsley. Honorary urn bearers will be the Trail's End Crew.
Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the St. Mary's Hall in Beardsley.
Anna Marie was born May 20, 1952, to John and Maxine (Kirkup) Marko in Milbank, SD. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Wilmot, SD. She attended school in Wilmot graduating from Wilmot High School in 1970.
On August 29, 1970, Ann married Clair Sibson at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Wilmot. After their marriage, they lived and worked in Clinton. In 1973, they moved to Beardsley where Ann worked at the grocery store and Ann and Clair managed the bowling alley. They also owned and operated Clair's Cabaret, and she was employed for a time at Glenn's Liquor's. In 1988, Clair and Ann bought Sibson Gravel from Clair's father Vern and moved to the farm. Working side by side with Clair, Ann served as the loader operator and bookkeeper. They retired in 2014. Ann and Clair were later part owners of the B Town Bar. They recently celebrated their 50 th wedding anniversary in August.
Ann was a First Responder and a longtime member of the Browns Valley Beardsley School Board, the Beardsley Town and Country Gals, and the St. Mary's Church. Musically talented, Ann was a church vocalist and played the guitar, accordion, piano, and violin. She also enjoyed her bowling and golfing leagues.
Ann's hobbies included sewing, crafting, gardening, dancing, and playing cards as well as ice fishing, snowmobiling, and deer hunting. She enjoyed horses and trail rides, and riding motorcycle and Corvette rides. Ann loved people and conversation, time at the lake cabin, and spending time with her family. She will be dearly missed.
Survivors include her husband, Clair of Beardsley; children, Chad (Kristi) Sibson of Beardsley, Jacqueline Sibson of Breckenridge, MN, and Josh (April) Sibson of Steamboat Springs, CO; grandchildren, Cody Sibson (Kim Rieff), Kayli (Mike) Piechowski, Georgeann, Elliot, and Mallory Sibson, and Seth and Damian Deutsch; two great-grandchildren, Emmett and Morgan; four sisters, Pam Hobbs of Sioux Falls, Mary Jane (Terry) Foster of Waverly, SD, Eileen Piehl of Aberdeen, SD, Pauline Marko of Aurora, SD; three brothers, Danny Marko of Sioux Falls, John Paul (Toni) Marko of Madison, SD, and Kent (Monica) Marko of Watertown; brother-in-law, Rodney Sibson of Milbank; and her dog, Trixie.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents, John and Maxine; parents-in-law, Vern and Caroline Sibson; brother, Larry Marko; brothers-in-law, Don Hobbs, Loryn Sibson and Leon Sibson; and a nephew, Wade Sibson.
