Alice Krensing, 97, Browns Valley, died Thursday, June 16, 2022, at the Browns Valley Health Center.
Private family services will be held at a later date. Burial will be in the Valley View Cemetery, Browns Valley.
Arna Alice was born March 17, 1925, in Connecticut to Frank and Anna Hendrickson. She grew up in New York and during high school worked at a toy factory. Alice graduated high school in New York and then worked at a hospital in medical records.
On May 27, 1951, Alice married Robert W. Krensing at the Presbyterian Church in Browns Valley. She worked as a secretary at the Browns Valley Clinic and later at the Browns Valley Health Center. She also helped out at her husband's Bob's Rec bowling alley and pool hall, later renamed Valley Lanes. Robert died December 12, 2008.
Alice enjoyed music from the Big Band era, especially Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Tony Martin, Doris Day, Tommy and Jimmy Dorsey and Glenn Miller. She also liked doing crossword puzzles and reading.
Survivors include her son, Richard of Browns Valley; granddaughter, Kimberly (Todd) Kaufman of Webster, SD; granddaughter-in-law, Keli (Rick) Schmitz of Fergus Falls, MN; and six great-granddaughters, Allison, Kaitlyn and Myia Krensing and Emily, Ella, and Emari Kaufman.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; son, Robert Jr.; grandson, Robert III; three sisters, Anna, Thelma, and Elna; and a brother, John.
